Eclectic Counselling (3rd Edition)
2009

In this edition Gary Hermansson is joined by his colleague Sue Webb to update and extend the successful earlier editions. The book articulates a counselling model that has its foundations in the interpersonal relationship, but extends into working collaboratively with clients to identify their needs and to work actively with them to bring about change using the most relevant from a range of intervention strategies. This most recent edition also introduces new material on practical ethics and working beyond one-to-one counselling with adult clients.

My Journey to Life

1999

This book chronicles a personal battle to overcome anorexia, bingeing, purging and depression. The tenuous journey to life only begins to emerge as the author (Fiona Denham) reaches a desperate state of non-coping and makes two suicide attempts. The hope of quick-fix solutions is replaced by a growing understanding of the complex issues underlying the author's self-destructive symptoms. Intensive therapy and personal work slowly unravels and addresses a fundamental issue faced by us all - a need to be real!
